Discover the Story Behind the Coach
At the age of 14, my golfing journey began at Fairhaven Golf Course in Lancashire...I remember Tiger Woods was my favourite golfer growing up, but there are so many golfers to admire such as Rory McIlroy, Seve, Jack Nicklaus and Padraig Harrington.
I have been working as a golf coach since the age of 19, where my first job was at a club in Ireland called Waterford Golf Club.
I turned professional at the age of 20 at a golf course in Yorkshire called Oakdale Golf Club and that’s where I did my PGA training and became a fully qualified PGA professional.
Now, I proudly serve as the Head Coach at Slinfold Golf Club in Horsham and have done since 2021.
My experience has included playing at amateur level county competitions, and since turning professional have played in national PGA events. I still love to compete and improve my game, as I feel it’s an important part of coaching to understand what your pupils are going through too.
Approach to Coaching
Introducing Golf:
To those contemplating golf, I say, "Give it a try!" Golf is the most sociable, rewarding, and enjoyable sport. It's not just a game; it's an experience waiting to be explored.
Coaching Philosophy:
I believe in holistic player development...a players performance comes from a few areas, technical improvements, course management, mentality improvements & better practice habits. Everyone is different and I like to be open about finding the best way for the player to improve.
Credentials
Whilst I hold a full PGA professional certification, TPI certification, US Kids Coach Level 1, and Trackman Coach certification, I believe that staying at the forefront of golf coaching advancements is crucial.
Engaging in continuous learning, I actively look for online courses and seek insights from fellow coaches to expand my knowledge to benefit my clients.
